Synaptix Systems Implements Affordable Care Act (ACA) Dual Eligible Processing for Major Healthcare Customer

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, California – December 9, 2013 – Synaptix Systems Inc., a leading strategy and solutions firm that helps clients understand & maximize return on their information technology (IT) and project investments, today announced the successful delivery of an engagement to roll out Affordable Care Act (ACA) Dual Eligible processing capabilities for a national multi-billion dollar Healthcare organization.

As part of the groundbreaking Affordable Care Act, the United States government has created a new office within the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Medicare-Medicaid Coordination Office, to coordinate care for individuals who are eligible for both Medicaid and Medicare (“dual eligible” or Medicare-Medicaid enrollees). The office is charged with making the two programs work together more effectively to improve care and lower costs. Synaptix Systems’ major Healthcare client is working directly with a number of U.S. States (Ohio, South Carolina, California, Illinois, etc.) to implement necessary changes to business procedures and systems in support of Dual Eligibles.

To tackle the challenge of managing these complex projects, Synaptix Systems’ client engaged our Program & Project Management practice. Synaptix Project Management resources are leading the State-level initiatives to integrate care for dual eligible enrollees, including State Demonstrations, alignment of Data, and Waiver Period modifications. At the heart of these initiatives are a group of Enrollment and Eligibility modifications. Synaptix has successfully met a series of project delivery dates that will support the January 2014 launch for the expansion of Medicaid availability. Ultimately, the Dual Eligible changes will enable our client and the U.S. States to:

  • Lower healthcare costs
  • Guarantee more choice
  • Enhance the quality of care for all Americans
