Synaptix Systems Implements Enterprise Project Portfolio Management (EPPM) System for Major Healthcare Customer
LADERA RANCH, California – January 9, 2013 – Synaptix Systems Inc., a leading strategy and solutions firm that helps clients understand & maximize return on their information technology (IT) and project investments, today announced the successful delivery of an engagement to implement an Enterprise Project Portfolio Management (EPPM) system for a national multi-billion dollar Healthcare organization. The EPPM system is based on Oracle’s Primavera product platform.
After a twenty-plus (20+) year history as a successful health plan and medical clinic operator, Synaptix Systems’ client recently embarked on a high-growth phase that has taken it from a regional health services company to a national, publicly-traded Medicare & Medicaid health services organization. With this growth, the client has also seen a corresponding increase in the complexity and scale of its support system requirements. Over one-hundred new projects have been identified and/or kicked off over the past year alone, which has led to a new challenge in terms of both identifying financially pragmatic projects and delivering these projects successfully.
To tackle this challenge, Synaptix Systems engaged with our Healthcare client to build a formalized Information Technology (IT) Project Management Office (PMO) function. One of the main initiatives under this PMO umbrella was the implementation of a world class system for EPPM. Synaptix Systems’ client ultimately selected Oracle’s Primavera software platform, and Synaptix has led the effort to deploy, customize and integrate Primavera with internal financial systems. Ultimately, the new EPPM system is enabling our client to:
- Better plan, schedule, and control large-scale programs and individual projects
- Select the right strategic mix of projects
- Balance resource capacity
- Allocate best resources and track progress
- Monitor and visualize project performance versus plan
- Foster team collaboration
